Alexander the Great Reading and Comprehension Tasks

Students will read a 3 page overview of the life and times of Alexander the Great, answer 3 broad questions based on the reading, and then answer and complete up to 7 creative tasks and opinion based questions. This would be great for a sub!  

Sample questions include:
--Why might there have been rebellions in the Macedonian Empire so quickly after Philip II’s death?
--Explain the purpose of leaving Macedonian regents in various conquered and established cities while Alexander continued on his campaign. 
--What do you think is the most important reason today that Alexander the Great is remembered and why? Would Alexander agree with you, why or why not? Would historians agree with you, why or why not?
--Does Alexander warrant having “the Great” in his name, why or why not? What else could he have been called, or referred to, and why?
