Among the Hidden: Escape Room

This Escape Room is ready to go with very little preparation by the teacher - just photocopy and go. To complete it students will have to have a copy of Among the Hidden, at least one book for every group. Students will complete four stages to finish the Escape Room.

Stage 1- Students will complete a 5 x 5 magic square. The numbers students insert into the squares are included in the novel Among the Hidden. A clue for each answer and the chapter where it can be found is provided for the students. When all the numbers have been properly inserted into the grid, it will form a magic square in which all the rows, columns and diagonals will have the same sum.

Stage 2- Students will use a code to figure out a group of mystery letters contained in a grid. They will then unscramble the letters to find a mystery word.

Stage 3- Students will pretend they are in houses around Luke’s neighborhood and figure out which other windows are visible from each different house. This will lead them to a code to complete a mystery phrase.

Stage 4- Students will complete a word search using key words from Among the Hidden. Clues are given, but not the actual words. When the puzzle is complete, the unused letters will reveal a hidden message.
