Description
Dear Counselor and Teacher Friends,
I created this activity with busy counselors, and teachers of students with conduct disorders in mind. We are all busy and activities with lots of prep are just not always feasible. There are no extra points for the number of hours you spend prepping an activity, so my goal is to make YOUR life easier!
This activity is great for students to work in groups or pairs to complete the challenges. However, you CAN use it successfully as a whole group lesson or individual activity as well.
Directions are very simple:
Copy one set for each group.
Hand out the story/explanation of the task, and allow the children to work without much interference from you. Guide and facilitate, but the learning is THEIRS to do.
(I like to place each set in a large envelope to stay organized then pass out a new challenge and the car as students turn in the previous challenge.) You can even just make piles of the challenges, hand out the initial story/explanation to each group to read, and have them come collect the next challenge on their own.
The only prep work you’ll need to do is to cut and laminate one set of cars for each group/pair. (Skip the lamination if you’re short on time)
You can set a timer if you wish. The goal is for all children to finish successfully.
Use the signs for children to take pictures and display their hard work!
Sincerely,
