Storifying The Past: Designing narratives with multiple perspectives to which students can take agency and contribute to building classroom community.
Gamifying The Past: Students are given multiple opportunities to reason out variables from the past through scavenger hunt contests, review games, and tabletop strategy games in which historical events and factors become levels and variables for students to reason out.

Socializing Knowledge: Students have constant opportunities to build connections with content and skills in non-lecture settings. At the end of the year, students are transformed into experts on their craft/content culminating in an opportunity for them to share their knowledge with the general public.

A Public History Final Project where students apply the skills they have developed over the year in a professional setting: designing and building a museum on the history of any topic they want.
A Polynesian Culture Mini-Unit focused on the 2016 Disney Movie Moana to end the year. Students will examine authentic cultural customs and beliefs before watching the movie.
