There are 4 different activity options, each based on 4 document DBQ which includes 2 primary and 2 secondary resources:
 
Activity Option 1 - Document Set 1 – Docs 1A and 1B
Students are given a primary source about Ashoka and his transformation. Using these two sources, students answer the questions to evaluate Ashoka’s rule.
 
Activity Option 2 -Document Set 2 – Docs 2A and 2B
Students are given a primary source about Ashoka and his transformation. Using these two sources, students answer the questions to evaluate Ashoka’s rule.
 
Activity Option 3 – 4 Document DBQ
The documents from sets 1 and 2 are combined into a 4-document DBQ. Students answer the comprehension and analysis questions based on these documents.
 
Activity Option 4:- Evaluating Ashoka – Graphic Organizer
Students complete the graphic organizer where they decide if the document shows that Ashoka was a cruel conqueror or an influential leader.
