Description
Students will read and analyze excerpts from Eisenhower's Atoms for Peace speech delivered to the UN by answering 20 questions and completing a creative task. The answers are included where appropriate and this would be great for a sub!
Sample questions include:
--Write a contextually appropriate synonym, or definition, for impelled.
--Describe why “absolute safety” couldn’t be guaranteed, even with warning systems.
--Which generation is likely to be tasked with that responsibility and why?
--Who could benefit from Eisenhower’s ideas for atomic energy?
--Summarize the main point of the 6th paragraph to demonstrate understanding.
--If you could retitle this speech, what would you choose and why?
