Build a Brain Workshop: A Hands-On Neuroanatomy Project

Why blow up your students' brains with a heavy duty neurology exam when they can build their own in this hands on project!?

Build a Brain Workshop contains a weeks' worth of material to help students in introductory psychology and anatomy classes demonstrate key understandings of complex brain anatomy.

In this project students must complete the following objectives.
Constructing a model brain of anything they can design. (Materials subject to teacher approval)
A "User Guide" outlining the eight key parts of the brain (4 Cerebral Cortex lobes, Brain Stem, Diencephalon, Limbic System and Cerebellum) and how they work.
An interview with the teacher in a low stakes/low anxiety brain fair scenario.

In addition to explaining the basic structures of the brain, students must also research one of 30 different conditions (topics and materials enclosed) and explain how that condition affects the brain. Topics range from as easy as Alzheimer's Disease to as hardcore as Ozzy Osbourne's Brain (the effects of Cocaine, Methamphetamine, Alcohol and Marijuana while explaining why Ozzy hasn't died yet).
