Description
Students complete a 3 part interview activity to review Augustus' rise to power and time as Roman Emperor. The first part has 6 academic questions, the second part of the activity has students "interview" Augustus right after consolidating his hold on the empire (6 questions and answers), in the third part they conduct his last interview on his deathbed (6 questions and answers), and the final task is a bonus creative opportunity. An answer key is included where appropriate. This would work for a sub!
Sample questions include:
--What was the Second Triumvirate? How does it connect to Octavian becoming the sole ruler of Rome?
--Explain a cause and an effect of Augustus taxation and financial reforms.
--What was the position of Pontifex Maximus and why did Augustus take it on in addition to his other duties and responsibilities?
--What is your ultimate goal as emperor?
--What do you think will be your biggest challenge in achieving your goals?
--What do you consider your greatest success and why?
--If you could have changed one event or decision from your time in power, what would it be and why?
--If you could give your successor one piece of advice what would it be and why?
