Description

California Gold Rush Wheel Project

Directions: You and 2 other classmates will be creating a wheel that outlines important parts of the Gold Rush. Each wedge will cover a different main idea, and it is your job to fill in the details! Use this outline to help you plan your project…now “rush” to work

Add illustrations to each wedge to accompany your research!

There is a focus on the discovery of gold, how the news spread, various routes to CA, different ways to mine, famous entrepreneurs, life at the gold fields, how CA changed as a result, and vocabulary

Each topic above is a wedge that fills a large circle. Once complete, students cut out and glue the wedges onto a large circle made from butcher paper. The project represents various aspects of things students learned about this major event in CA history.

*Picture included to show final product.
