Chamberlain and Churchill Interview Review Activity

Students complete an interview activity to review Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain and Prime Minster Winston Churchill during WW2. They first answer 5 history based questions, then they "interview" each man after becoming PM (5 questions and answers), then students conduct each of their last interviews (7 questions and answers), and the last task is a bonus creative opportunity. An answer key is included where appropriate. This would work for a sub. 

Sample questions include: 
--How did Churchill change the office of the Prime Minister, and possibly the course of the war, by creating the office of Minister of Defense?
--Explain the policy of appeasement that Nevill Chamberlain supported, and how that policy panned out at the Munich Conference and through September 1939. Then, read the following excerpts from two of Chamberlain’s quotes regarding the Munich Conference. Re-write them in your own words to demonstrate understanding.
--What do you each think will be your biggest challenge in achieving your goals?

--If you could each give yourselves one piece of advice the night before you officially became Prime Minister, what would it be and why?
--PM Chamberlain: Had you not died in 1940, what might you have done to have your legacy focus on something other than the Munich Conference? Do you think history would have accommodated that something else and pushed Munich to the background, why or why not? 

--PM Churchill: You delivered many riveting and moving speeches during your time in politics. Which are you most proud of and why? (examples include, “the Lights are Going Out…Britain Must Arm, America Must Arm;” “I have nothing to offer but blood, toil, tears and sweat;” “Do Your Worst, We’ll Do Our Best;” and “Sinews of Peace (the Iron Curtain).”
