Description
Students complete a 3 part interview to review Charlemagne and his time in power. They first answer 5 questions to review factual items, then they interview Charlemagne after he is crowned, and in the third part students conduct Charlemagne's last interview while he is on his deathbed (11 questions and answers). There is a bonus creative opportunity as a final task. An answer key is included where appropriate and this would work for a sub!
Sample questions include:
--To which religion did Charlemagne order his subjects to convert to and what purpose did that serve? Describe 3 different reactions his subjects could have had to that order.
--Why did Charlemagne’s empire begin dissolving less than 100 years after his death?
--What do you think will be your biggest challenge in achieving your goals?
--Which of your accomplishments would you like memorialized on a coin to be distributed throughout your empire, and why?
--If you could give yourself one piece of advice the day of your crowning, what would it be and why?
