Bring real-world business concepts to life with this engaging Christmas-themed Human Resources simulation. In this hands-on project, students step into the role of SantaCo’s HR Department to hire elves, design training programs, write workplace policies, and solve realistic HR problem scenarios from the North Pole. Perfect for Business, CTE, Principles of Business, Entrepreneurship, Marketing, and Workplace Readiness classes, this lesson requires no technology and works for individual or group work.
This project is perfect for all business classes and works exceptionally well as an alternative project instead of a traditional midterm exam. It provides rigorous, standards-based content with a fun holiday twist that keeps students engaged during December.
Students complete four major HR tasks:
• Write three professional job postings for North Pole positions
• Create a detailed one-week onboarding and training plan
• Develop an employee handbook policy page
• Analyze and solve three workplace HR problem scenarios
