Description

Circles - everything you need!

This is your one stop to gain all the materials you need to teach your children everything they need to know about parts of a circle.

Developed within our classroom as part of our Maths topic on 2D shapes, this pack contains the following activities and resources:

Posters

Seven posters, in full colour, which include an illustration of a circle and the part of the circle highlighted in a contrasting colour, key vocabulary and definition of that vocabulary. Simply print and display in your classroom to bring the vocabulary and knowledge to your children and their math learning. These can be enlarged and laminated to ensure eye-catching, longer lasting resources.

Go Fish! game

21 brightly designed cards, each with either an illustration of a part of a circle, key vocabulary card or definition of a part of a circle. The game is played by placing all cards face down onto the table or floor. Taking it in turns, the children must pick up three cards. To win a set of three, the children must find an illustration, the correct vocabulary to match the illustration, and the correct definition. Not only a memory game of where the cards are, but will truly help embed the learning of the parts of a circle. If the children are incorrect in their three choices, all three cards go back down. The variations of this game are huge, and children will develop their own games using these cards (including snap!).

Loop Game

27 cards included which each have a question and an answer. Every child playing receives a card. Select one child to start by reading their question. If another child has the answer to that question on their card, they read. or show, their answer and then read their question on their card. The game continues until all the questions have been read out. Be aware - there are some questions with the same answer - children need to be awake to ensure they answer the question with their card! There will be loops within loops, and it could take some time before every child has read their question! All the questions are related to properties of circles.
