Description

This product is a single page document that includes links to interactive games on the internet that students can play to review and learn about the American Civil War. The document can used online or printed for student use. The games included in the document include a timeline activity, Battle of Gettysburg, and slave v. free state activity.

The website used for the games are:

  • Quia Timeline Game: Students organize a timeline of six Civil War events chronologically. The document then asks students to list one of the events.
  • Battle of Gettysburg Simulation: Students are tasked with attempting to win the Battle of Gettysburg. Students must make strategic decisions in this battle simulation to try to win the battle. The document asks students to describe their choices and the outcome.
  • Rags to Riches Trivia Game: This game asks students trivia questions about the Civil War. Students try to win the most money in this gameshow style game. The resource asks students to play multiple times and to input the highest amount of money won in a single game.
  • Civil War Challenge and Discovery: This is the most involved game of the bunch and has students organize a map of 1860's United States into Confederate, Union, and Border states. The game presents important information about each state while playing. The product tasks students with determining the number of each type of state and challenges them to play another game on the website.

A one page answer key is also included.

This product includes a Microsoft Word and PDF version of the resource.
