Description

Click and deliver lessons that will help students master and remember the major events of the Cold War- because they are taught in STORY form. All these resources go with these three History For Humans videos:
1. Berlin Airlift & Start of Cold War,
2. McCarthyism & the Red Scare,
3. Threat Level Midnight: Cuban Missile Crisis.

History For Humans is dedicated to providing engaging and relevant history videos and lessons that engage and excite diverse learners so they develop a passion for learning history. This bundle helps students understand the complexity behind the start of the Cold War and America's first major challenge; The Berlin Airlift, how it impacted the homefront with the rise of a dangerous demagogue- McCarthy, and how close we came to nuclear armageddon with the Cuban Missile Crisis. Students learn best through stories- but without context, the richness of history is missed so these story-lectures both cover essential historical information while also keeping students engaged with powerful stories.

All lessons have interactive notesheets to help students comprehend, connect to, and reflect on the history- accompanied with predictions, analyzing anchor images, thinking maps, and then a reflection on the episode's exploration question. Then there is a quick quiz to ensure understanding and an extension lesson for each episode. Berlin Airlift- they do a mini/scaffolded DBQ and analyze 4 different primary sources (newspaper excerpt, photograph, map, and political cartoon), McCarthyism they analyze political cartoons, and a speech from President Truman and match ideas from the speech to the cartoon, and then they do a simulation acting as EXCOMM and 'solve the Cuban Missile Crisis'- analyzing a couple documents before weighing options, debating as a team, and then writing a speech for President Kennedy to deliver to the nation. They will love learning about the Cold War and won't forget it! And for you, teacher, its click and deliver! Everything you need so you can have fun doing the activities with the students!

There are answer keys for everything!
