Description
Students will read a three page overview of the Columbian Exchange and its effects, answer 9 questions, and complete two tasks. They will then read 8 primary source quotes from 1492-1584 and answer 15 questions. Lastly, they will describe how 4 images relate to the Columbian Exchange. The answers are included where appropriate and this would be great for a sub!
Sample questions include:
--Explain how the map connects to the first paragraph.
--Which disease was the most deadly to Native Americans and why?
--In what way(s) does this excerpt reflect the concept of the Columbian Exchange?
--Identify Ferdinand and Isabella’s motivation(s) in their excerpt.
--Summarize Mbemba's main point in your own words to demonstrate understanding.
--Which side of the Columbian Exchange does Sepulveda support and why?
--Provide a contextually appropriate synonym for “wrought” and “barren.”
