Description
This is a ready to use STEM lesson featuring the story Tinyville Town: Gets To Work. This lesson is built to be used around Community Helper Week. This lesson focuses on the job of the construction worker! We use the book as the hook and problem for our STEM challenge. Students are asked to engineer a bridge to help get the people of STEMville get over the pond. The bridge must be wide enough for two cars/trucks to pass and it must be strong enough to support the weight of both!!! This challenge is based for Pre-K or kindergarten students. It could also be completed with 1st or 2nd graders. This lesson gives you information about the book and then it give you the challenge, suggested materials, and guides you through the process of getting kids ready to complete the challenge. This one is set-up to be used with Pre-K and Kindergarten. I use the book as the hook and then turn the problem into our STEM challenge. Please feel free to share any feedback. I have more resources if you feel this one was helpful! Thank you so much for taking the time to look at my resources!
