This Community Helpers Bundle Set 1 consists of 4 resources. This bundle is 55 pages and is linked to the Common Core.

Community Helpers Set 1 Literacy is a resource to use when working on a unit about Community Helpers.

Community Helpers Literacy Set 1 is linked to the Common Core. The Alphabet Cards can be used in a pocket chart in the reading center or can be used in centers or workstations by matching cards to letter manipulatives. The Picture/Word Strips can be used in a writing center or the workstation. Primary writing paper is included to copy and place in the writing center.

The Community Helpers Picture Cards can be used in the book

center on a pocket chart near dress-up costumes. The community helpers' picture cards

can be used after reading books about community helpers. Show the community helpers picture cards and ask students to identify community helpers

in the pictures. The picture cards can be used on a bulletin board to introduce the unit on community helpers. The community helpers in this set: chef, detective, doctor, firefighter, mailman, mechanic, nurse, policeman, policewoman, teacher, and vet.

This activity set consists of 26 alphabet cards, 12 picture vocabulary cards,

11 picture word strips, to use page, printing instructions, table of contents, and primary writing paper.

Community Helpers Math Set 1 is a resource to use when working on a unit about

Community Helpers. It is linked to the Common Core and can be used with math instruction or in workstations. Community Helpers Math Set 1 can be used to address counting, number identification, cardinality, one-on-one correspondence, and writing numbers. Community Helpers Math Set 1 includes an activity sheet, to how-to-use page,

Math Clip Cards, 10 Trace and Erase Cards, 29 Number cards, printing directions, and table of contents. The Clip Cards and Trace and Erase Cards can be used in workstations/centers.

The Clip Cards involve counting community helpers and selecting the correct answer

on the card with a clothespin or large paperclip. The Trace and Erase Cards can be laminated and used over and over again with dry-erase markers. These cards can also

be printed and not laminated and used with pencils, crayons, or markers. These cards offer practice with counting and writing numbers. The number cards can be used for number identification and used with classroom manipulatives for one-on-one correspondence.

This activity set consists of a game and community helper puppets.

This Community Helpers Game of matching community helper pictures in color to black/white community helper pictures makes it easy for students to experience success quickly. The game can be used in a small group, during center time, or as an independent activity to coordinate with a unit on community helpers. It is a good activity for visual discrimination. The community helpers matching game can be used with inclusion students in a general education classroom. The Community Helpers Activity Set 1 has 14 community helper puppets. Using the puppets during whole group language provides an opportunity for students

to listen, follow directions, and demonstrate understanding.

Each page consists of 2 book pages with a total of 16 pages including the Word List page and the List of Community Helpers page. Students can be instructed how to read the book because it has simple repetitive sentences and then color the community helpers. Students can draw a community helper at the end of the book.
