D-Day Text Analysis and Map Activity

Students will read and analyze Eisenhower's "Order of the Day" for D-Day by answering 10 questions. They will then read his "In Case of Failure" note and answer 2 more questions. They will then compare and contrast the original draft of the Order of the Day with Eisenhower's edits by completing 2 tasks according to provided prompts. Lastly, they will complete 2 map activities (26 labels total) and will answer an overarching questions. The answers are included where appropriate and this would be great for a sub.  

Sample questions include:
--Provide a contextually appropriate synonym/definition for “striven.”
--Citing evidence from the text, in what way(s) is Eisenhower honest with the troops? Where is he encouraging?
--Why do you think Eisenhower said home fronts instead of home front?
--Where did Eisenhower anticipate assigning responsibility for any shortcomings and why?
