Description
Students have a world of information at their fingertips, but that doesn't mean they know how to use it. The answer is consistent practice that isn't boring. This is a set of 366 prompts -- one for every day of the calendar year – that will help intermediate learners improve their writing and researching skills. Each slide presents a high-interest topic based on an event that happened on that day in history. Students are asked to “Find out about it” and summarize what they discover in a simple paragraph. This focused practice will have them writing better and learning about a wide range of topics that will feel like fun.
It includes:
•366 prompts with date and corresponding graphic that can be used either in PowerPoint or Google Slides
•Instructions with 2 detailed examples
•Thorough suggestions for use
•A Google Slide template for students to use as they research
•Optional blackline masters of two different templates that can be printed out
There are many ways to use these prompts, including:
•Morning work/ Bell ringers
•Centers or other small group time
•Quality learning opportunities for those who finish work early
•End of the day sharing time
•Year-long journal writing
