Give students practice reading decodable passages with lovable monster characters and engaging storylines. Stories are 9 - 21 pages in length, containing 1 - 4 sentences per page. Two different versions of each story are provided, a full-length version as well as an intervention version. The intervention version has shortened, simplified text compared to the full-length version, and is meant for students not yet ready for the complexity of the full-length passage. A 1-2 page version of each text (no illustrations) is also included so that you may upload the story for independent student practice on whatever online learning platform you are using.

Phonics skills include:

Long A Words spelled with AI & AY

Long E Words spelled with EE & EA

Long O Words spelled with OA, OW, & OE

Long I Words spelled with IGH, Y, & I-E

Long U Words spelled with EW, OO, UI, & UE

Silent E (VCE) Words with Long A, E, I, O, & U
