Description

Students read 15 quotes about different events from the presidencies of George Washington, John Adams, and Thomas Jefferson (the Early Republic Era), answer 20 questions, and analyze 6 images. This would be great for a sub and the answers are included where appropriate.

Sample questions include:
--Identify which issue pitting Federalists and Democratic-Republicans against each other is the topic of Hamilton’s quote.
--Explain why this event was historically significant and what it showed about America’s revised government.
--Considering the historical context, why might Paine have expressed these sentiments to Washington?
--Provide a historical example to support Washington’s quote.
--What is implied with the use of “reign” with regards to Adams?
--Citing evidence from the text, did Jefferson believe it was constitutional or not and why?
--Why was the answer to the above question put into place? Explain why there were differing opinions on its enactment/existence.
