Description
This ready-to-use teaching resource introduces Grades 2–4 students to Election Day through a full-lesson unit that includes a teacher’s guide, student templates (such as voter registration cards, classroom ballots, and a “What I Would Vote For” writing sheet) and fun coloring pages (e.g., “I voted” badges, civic icons, ballot boxes) to engage younger learners. Students begin by discussing what an election is and why people vote, then participate in a class mock election (using the templates) to deepen understanding, followed by a reflection activity where they color their “I voted” badge and write or draw about why voting matters. Throughout, the lesson promotes non-partisan civic awareness, group discussion, and the idea that each voice counts, with the visuals and coloring pages offering an age-appropriate way for younger students to connect with the concept.
