This emoji themed reading journal (Google Slideshow file) is a way for students to monitor their thinking and record their thinking on digital sticky notes. You can customize your students' journal with various formats. Students will hunt for their emoji moments and stop to reflect on the moment using their digital sticky notes. There are 56 slides in this file. There are a variety of colors and layouts to customize the journal for your students.

Depending on the layout you decide, students can "mark" their emoji (interactive element), explain their emoji moment, and cite the text where the moment was "born" in their story.

Because you can assign the digital journal on Google Classroom, you can easily track student progress.

Included are editable slides to customize your journal even more! Also included is a slide that teaches students how to use text boxes (using them, adding them).

There is a Table of Contents (with hyperlinks) to help you navigate through the file as well.
