Description

It's one thing for middle school physical science students to recognize the nine major classes of energy. Identifying the energies involved in a conversion takes additional practice. In this activity, students will analyze sixteen scenarios that involve energy transformation. There are thirty-nine classification opportunities built into the scenarios where students will identify whether the energy form at hand is an example of electrical, mechanical, nuclear, radiant, thermal, sound, gravitational, elastic, or chemical energy.

The student copy features a reference table that summarizes the profile of each energy class.
