Description
It's one thing for middle school physical science students to classify examples of the nine major energy forms. Identifying the energy types involved in a conversion takes additional practice. In this activity, students will analyze fourteen scenarios that involve energy transformation. There are forty-two classification opportunities built into the scenarios where students will identify whether the starting, intermediate, and final form of energy is an example of electrical, mechanical, nuclear, radiant, thermal, elastic, gravitational, sound, or chemical energy.
The student copy features a reference table that summarizes the profile of each energy form.
This PDF file will become editable upon conversion to Microsoft Word using Adobe Acrobat. It includes a key with the answers in red font.
This activity correlates with my other publications about energy and work for physical science.
