English Bill of Rights Analysis and Creative Task

Students will read excerpts from the English Bill of Rights, answer 18 questions, and complete 3 creative tasks. Two questions have students compare and contrast this to what they know about the Declaration of Independence and United States Bill of Rights. Please note the original spelling has been preserved where possible for historical authenticity. The answers are included where appropriate and this would be great for a sub! 

Sample questions include:
--Explain the overarching claim made against King James II.
--Why would a citizen want to (or need to) petition the king freely and without risk of punishment?
--Explain the meaning of the phrase "that their religion, laws and liberties might not again be in danger of being subverted."
--If you were a commoner, which grievance would have been the most difficult to have lived under and why?
--From the point of view of a British citizen in 1689, summarize the main points, message, intention, and potential legacy of this document in 8 sentences or less.
--Could there have been a British citizen NOT in favor of this document? Why or why not?
