Description
This ELA resources guide can be used along with the book Everybody Cooks Rice by Norah Dooley as a separate class read-aloud or as part of a multicultural unit study.
It includes pre- and post reading (with video read-aloud) and writing activities such as vocabulary, note taking, comprehension, graphic organizers, partner activity and a final culminating writing piece.
Also this guide can lead to a creation of a class recipe book while discovering recipes. This is a perfect segway into the study of fractions in math by using recipe samples to double fractions and review equivalent fractions. Recipe book can be made for class use or distributed to students to savor and understand the multicultural society we live in.
