I have found that this lesson has been very successful in teaching students about civil rights in China. I have used it over and over again. In addition to teaching civil rights, it explores the similarities and differences between Communism and Democracy. Great for Social Studies courses, such as; Geography, World History, and Government Includes: Detail teacher lesson and notes, graphic organizer, song, and article. Music is incorporated into this lesson. I have found that students respond positively when music is incorporated into the lesson- THEY LISTEN AND THEY LEARN! I try and include as much music in my lessons as I can. It is a great tool to get the students attention. Try it, you will be pleased with the results. Teacher-ready materials.
