Description
This Financial Literacy unit is a project-based approach to the new Math 2020 Curriculum.
It is meant as a culmination to a unit, or a great activity to use right before a break because the kids are engaged and love to plan it. It does not include lessons. This is an opportunity for students to use math in real situations. They will calculate the costs of flight, meals, and accommodations as well as entertainment if they were to plan a trip to Europe. Each student will have the opportunity to plan a trip that interests them and engages them in math and geography. Reflection pages have been added to meet financial literacy components for grades 5 to 8. You could easily use this in a younger class but might have to modify some sections that ask for taxes and currency conversions.
