Description
Students will research an assigned event (historic or current), learn about its course of events and people involved and determine whether or not it can or should be considered a genocide. They will make that determination according to the UN's definition, the 10 stages of genocide, and input from the world community. In conducting their research, students can use this as a guide to organize their findings related to war crimes tribunals, methods of extermination, 10 stages of genocide, methods of resistance, perpetrator's motivations, memorials, deniers, involvement by the UN or specific countries, and more! A sample list of books for non-internet research is included for Armenia, the Holocaust, Cambodia, and Rwanda.
