Description
Geometry Escape Room is an engaging resource to reinforce some geometry skills. It’s ready to go with very little preparation by the teacher - just photocopy and go. Students will complete four stages to break out of the escape room.
Stage 1 - Students will complete a 5 x 5 magic square. The numbers students insert into the squares are related to geometry. A clue for each answer is provided for the students. When all the numbers have been properly inserted into the grid, it will form a magic square in which all the rows, columns, and diagonals will have the same sum.
Stage 2 - Students will use their completed magic square and a code to figure out a group of letters contained in a grid. They will then write the letters in a specified order to find a mystery word.
Stage 3 - Students will locate letters on a coordinate grid and insert these into a message about a Greek mathematician.
Stage 4 - Students will deduce missing measurements in a diagram of polygons. Then they will find polygons that meet specific criteria of area and perimeter. This will lead them to a mystery word, which is their key to get out of the escape room.
Teacher instructions, informational posters for students, and answer keys are all included.
