Description
Here is a fun way for your grade 5 learners to practice or review their skills with decimals. This set of 20 task cards is designed to give 5th graders the opportunity to identify place value to the right of a decimal, add and subtract decimals, identify decimals using base 10 blocks, and solve word problems involving decimals. Each concept is aligned with current mathematics standards and the word problems include real-world scenarios. This activity is a great way to round out your unit on decimals and give your learners the opportunity to get up and moving while working on essential math skills. Task cards can be used in a variety of ways and allow learning to take place in different settings. Use them as an engaging learning activity indoors or add them to your math learning center. Take advantage of warmer weather and use them outdoors, too. First time use requires a bit of prep, but if you laminate the cards, they can be used year after year. Task cards can also be used in a resource setting, giving learners the one-on-one attention needed to master necessary skills. This set of task cards includes a color version, as well as a black & white version. Both sets are identical. An answer key is also provided.
