Description
In this Halloween-themed activity, students must identify the number on each mat and then count and feed the monster the correct number of candies. Practice counting to ten and identifying numbers in different representations: numerals, ten frames, and dice. Plus, “I Can” cards in both English and French give your students more independence during centers. Your students will love this game so much that they won’t even realize that they’re learning!
HOW TO PLAY:
Download the file that you need (PowerPoint™, Google Slides™, Printable versions).
DIGITAL - Choose which slides to assign by deleting the ones you don’t need. Make a copy of the file for each student that will use it. Play in EDIT mode so that the objects can be manipulated. If you are in PRESENTATION mode, you will only be able to view the slides.
*TIP: Teach your students how to UNDO actions in interactive digital activities (especially important if they delete the moveable objects!)
PRINT – Choose which number mats you want to use and print. Laminate the mats for durability (optional) and add manipulatives for counting (and to feed the monster) – you can use just about anything! Use these number mats during free play, centres, or as 1-to-1 or small group interventions.
