Hatshepsut Activity Legacy Video Guide Analysis

Students will watch and analyze a 4 minute video about Hatshepsut from Ancient Egypt's New Kingdom and why attempts were made to erase her from the historical record by answering 21 questions and completing an extension task. The answers are included where appropriate and the video is from TedEd. 

Sample questions include:
--What does “damnatio memoriae” mean?
--Although it was legal for a woman to be pharaoh, why wasn't it accepted by all Egyptians?
--Identify the purpose and degree of success of Djeser-Djeseru.
--Why else might Hatshepsut’s images and name have been erased after her death?
--What is a particular challenge in assessing Hatshepsut’s reign?
