Description
Students will learn about Irena Sendler and how she rescued children during the Holocaust from the Warsaw Ghetto by watching this 5 and a half minute video, answering 30 questions, and completing 2 extension tasks. The answers are included where appropriate. The video is from TedEd.
Sample questions include:
--How does the quote in particular relate to the Holocaust and the choices people could make?
--What was Irena’s most dangerous possession?
--Explain what the answers to questions 7 and 8 would have meant for Irena.
--On what grounds was Irena able to enter the Warsaw Ghetto?
--What might have been her biggest challenge in this venture?
--How did the change in 1942 impact Sendler’s activities?
--Why did she remain hesitant throughout her life to accept praise and honors for her wartime efforts?
