Description
Students will read watch and analyze a 4 and a half minute video about the Progressive Era efforts of Ida B. Wells against lynching and segregation and for women's suffrage by answering 20 questions and completing two creative tasks. The answers are included where appropriate and the video is from TedEd.
Sample questions include:
--Summarize the incident that sets the context for the video.
--Why was there no shortage of things for Ida to write about?
--Compare and contrast the white claims about lynchings to what Ida uncovered.
--Was 1895 a turning point in Wells’ life, why or why not?
--Inferring from context clues, what does “disenfranchised” mean?
--Identify a key effect of Wells being “unwilling to compromise.”
