This product analyzes two different sources on Imperialism. The product looks at a historical political cartoon on "The White Man's Burden" and then compares this to a modern prospective using RATM's (Rage Against the Machine's) song "Take the Power Back." The product includes a Teacher's Guide for the discussion, lyric sheet (clean version) to the song, PPT with the political cartoon and a embedded YouTube video to a clean version of the song. The idea of the product is to identify the viewpoint of Imperialism during the historical period and how it compares to the modern view/legacy of Imperialism.
This is a great product to end a unit on Imperialism and/or extend the concept of White Man's Burden.
