Description
This product is great for having students collaborate to analyze the famous Rudyard Kipling, the White Man's Burden poem of 1899. The worksheet has the poem and then six questions to lead the students to a better understanding of the poem's meaning. Possible suggestion on how to lead this activity is to have the students read the poem straight through understanding that they will have no clue what it is saying. Then go stanza by stanza together. Have them discuss their reactions with a partner. Next have them tackle the questions. Finally use the questions to lead a class discussion.
The product includes the poem, questions, an analysis guide for the teacher and an answer key for the questions.
