Are you looking for a fun and interactive way to look at and discuss primary and secondary sources with your students? Rather than just throwing up a few pictures on the board drop your pictures into this template and watch your students instantly become more engaged. Our students are attracted to things that are familiar to them and this template will bring their social media world into the classroom. This assignment is easy to implement and ready for you to use. All you have to do is choose the pictures and drop them into the file.

*SMARTBOARD Compatible* If you have a SMARTBOARD you can also have students come up to the board and draw their own events, pictures, etc. Students really love this!

A worksheet is available for you to print and hand out to your students if you choose. You can simply have the students discuss the answers, or write and discuss (which is what I prefer).

Included is an example that you can go over with your students to let them know how it works. The 8 discussion questions are:

Who is the author?
When was this picture taken?
What is taking place?
What caused this to take place?
Who is the intended audience?
Who would "like" this picture?
Who would comment? What would be said about it?
Why is this event significant?
