Description
Looking for a no-prep digital version of multiplying integers with integer chips?
Teach students how to use integer chips to add integers by moving red (negative) and yellow (positive) chips into groups. Students love moving the chips around the board on each slide. When the first factor is negative, students will use the commutative property and reverse the order of the numbers in order to form groups. When both factors are negative, teach students to see a negative symbol as "the opposite of". This leads students to the rules for multiplying integers and finishes with a short assessment. Great conceptual lesson to help students understand the concept of multiplying positive and negative numbers.
