Description
No matter if students are writing narrative, informative, or persuasive pieces, a good hook is a must. This 21-poster set for intermediate grades gives students 10 ways to write strong introductions based on the theme of careers. Each technique is named and explained on a large-print 11' x 8.5" poster and has an example of that type of introduction on a matching illustrated poster. Simply print, laminate, and post. Also included is a "cheat sheet" student reference page with definitions & examples of the 10 introduction types; a brainstorming sheet for students to try writing varied beginnings; a suggested lesson plan for using this product; and a list of topics for further practice.
Also available is a set of 10 "Elaboration" posters, each with a specific technique for adding detail and an exemplar sentence that displays each of the 10 techniques.
