Description
This highly engaging activity challenges students to decide if microorganisms that they observe under the microscope belong to the plant or animal kingdom. They will learn that scientists in the 1860’s had a similar challenge and solved it by creating a new protist kingdom. This helps students understand that science is not static and that facts change as we learn more about the world.
This free activity has been used for many years in our classrooms and was always a big hit.
