Description

Students will learn about the internment of Japanese-Americans during WW2 (WWII) by watching a 5 and a half minute video and answering 28 questions. They will then analyze 11 images according to 5 questions/prompts. The answers are included where appropriate. The video is from TedEd.  If your students have access to technology this would work with a sub!

Sample questions include:
--How did Aki Kurose react to the attack at Pearl Harbor?
--Why were Japanese-Americans, even citizens, labeled as potential traitors?
--What was Minidoka?
--Did all Japanese-Americans react to Executive Order 9066 and its consequences the same way? Explain your answer.
--In your own words, what was a key focus of the children of the internment camps after the war?
--Why was 1988 significant to this topic?
