Kristallnacht Webquest Activity Video Guide Analysis

Students will learn about the causes, course, and effects of Kristallnacht by watching and analyzing a 3 minute educational video, a 5 minute video from a survivor, and by reading an article about Kristallnacht and Germany leading up to the Holocaust. There are 30 questions across the three links. The answers are included where appropriate. The videos and article are from the USHMM.  

Sample questions include:
--Inferring from prior knowledge, of what was this an escalation?
--In what way was Kristallnacht unique among the horrors perpetrated against Jews?
--What was “the awful thing” about the horrors Heidi witnessed?
--Why did her father say although it was difficult, going to America was the right thing for Heidi and her sister?
--Explain the difference between a pogrom and an aktion. 
--What is something you learned in Heidi’s video that wasn’t in the USHMM video?
