Description

Language acquisition is one of the most fascinating debates in modern psychology. How do we learn language: are we born with the capability, or do we learn it as we grow? This article covers three major theories, and the lesson ultimately asks students to dig into the text to draw their own conclusions. The close read includes annotation guides, guiding questions to process, layers of reading, graphic organizer, and ends with a creative metaphorical thinking project.

All lessons include essential questions and learning targets, clear instructions, ready-to-print copies of handouts, and examples and keys when appropriate. Most all lessons are timed for a 90 minute block of time unless noted otherwise.
