Each Latin root word packet is designed to help students understand the meaning of medical terminology found in the respective chapters in a Human Anatomy & Physiology textbook. Each worksheet features a two-column listing of approximately 28 Latin/Greek prefixes, roots, and suffixes next to their English meaning on multiple pages. Then students analyze the etymology of compound words that relates to the unit of study.
-
Students first are directed to slash each compound word into its prefix, root, and suffix.
-
Then students are directed to sequentially write the English meaning of each part in between forward slashes on the top numbered line.
-
Finally, students are directed to accurately define the term on the designated lines.
Example: Hypoglycemia
Student answer: Hypo/glyc/emia - Deficient/sugar/blood
Definition: Hypoglycemia is a condition of low blood sugar
I provided a complete key for each lesson with the answers in either red or blue font. The cost of this bundle offers a 25% savings from the individual costs of the included items.
Each PDF file will become editable upon conversion to Microsoft Word using an Adobe Acrobat Reader DC app.
I appreciate your interest. I have over twenty-five years of teaching experience and publishing experience dating back to 2002. I am confident this bundle of activities will serve your students well as these lessons have served mine over the years!
