The goal of this lesson is to introduce students to Latitude and Longitude and teach them the process of reading and mapping out coordinates

A Student Response Sheet is included to pair with the PowerPoint. This offers a fill-in-the-blank note-taking option and a way for students to complete the various assessments throughout the lesson. There is also a quiz based on these different assessment tasks.
Activity: Reading and Mapping out Coordinates
Option 1 - The first activity has students look at various map points and figure out the coordinates. They will then record these coordinates on the box chart provided.
Option 2 - The second option is the reverse of option 1. Here, students look at the coordinates in the box chart and label them on the map.
