Description

This product features seven pages of graph, table, and/or passage analysis to prepare students for the ACT science test. It primarily covers the topics of cell transport, macromolecules, and energy utilization. I assign this series in my high school biology class.

You can split up this bundled set and assign the graph, table, and passage interpretation activity sheets in their different respective units of study, or you can proctor the entire series in one timed setting as a simplified ACT practice test. This series is similar to an upper middle school-level ACT Aspire science test where approximately 90% of the answers are built into the assessment. Students just have to glean the answers with adequate time management skills. I scripted the passage section in particular to mimic the "Quarreling Scientists" section on the ACT. Successful completion in this activity series is dependent on the students' ability to recognize trend lines, utilize a 50/50 approach in narrowing down multiple choice answers, and pay attention to details.

This PDF document will become editable upon conversion to Microsoft Word using an Adobe Acrobat DC Reader program.

I included seven pages of keys with the answers in red font. I conservatively indicated that this series would take 90 minutes to complete - 45 minutes for the task completion and an additional 45 minutes for the discussion of the answers.

I offer dozens of quality field-tested, innovative, practical, and user-friendly products for several fields of science - biology, chemistry, field ecology, physical science, earth science, space science and human anatomy and physiology.
