Description
This lesson is designed to last for an hour of class time or longer. Students will be provided with background information about major battles and conflicts during the Civil War. They will show what they know by completing engaging classroom activities and answering various depths of knowledge of questions related to the lesson.

Students will be asked to break up into groups to answer "Big Questions" (featured in the lesson). They will then be assigned a battle that they will be asked to research and present to the class. This lesson provides teachers with extension, closing, and project activities that they can use in the future.
